Diversified Energy is proud to introduce EnigMAT to the greater New Orleans/Louisiana Gulf South region. EnigMAT is a cutting-edge energy efficiency product that differs from conventional insulation that only blocks heat flow. Instead, EnigMAT actively captures, stores, and releases thermal energy before it enters your home or business.
SWICH has been rebranded to EnigMAT – Same awesome product, just a new name
The proprietary PCM formulations for EnigMAT are chosen based on regional climate zones, enabling us to provide customized solutions for homes, businesses, offices, and schools that deliver optimal comfort and performance.
What Is EnigMAT?
EnigMAT is a cutting-edge energy efficiency product that combines two proven technologies; phase change materials [PCMs] and radiant barrier. Unlike traditional insulation products that only work to slow the flow of heat, EnigMAT actively captures, stores, and releases heat before it ever gets to your current insulation.
EnigMAT is kind of like a year-round quilted, radiant barrier blanket that is filled with PCMs, which helps keep your home or business cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. EnigMAT also significantly reduces the load on your HVAC equipment and can lower your cooling and heating bills by up to 50%.
How EnigMAT Works?
Unlike traditional insulations that resist the transfer of heat, EnigMAT actively Captures heat, Stores it, and Releases it. This is achieved through the combination of radiant barrier and cutting-edge PCMs, or Phase Change Materials that are packed into the radiant barrier like a quilted blanket.
During the summer, EnigMAT Captures the heat before it ever makes it to your current insulation, Stores it until the daytime high temperature has passed, then Releases the heat. In the winter, EnigMAT Captures the heat from your home, Stores it, then releases it as temperatures drop.
By Capturing, Storing, and Releasing heat at just the right times, EnigMAT significantly reduces the load on your HVAC equipment and improves the comfort level throughout your home or business.
Fast Installation
Our professional installation crews can install EnigMAT in a fraction of the time when compared to upgrading or replacing your current insulation. EnigMAT can be laid directly over your current attic insulation, stapled in place vertically on stem and side walls, or placed directly on top of ceiling tiles in dropped ceilings.
Proudly Made In The USA
EnigMAT is a US company and proudly sourced and manufactured in the USA. When you put EnigMAT in your home or business, you are helping support an American business and American jobs.
Fire Safety
EnigMAT boasts an incredible ASTM E-84 rating [Flame: 5/Smoke: 5].
FAQs about EnigMAT Insulation
Phase Change Materials, or PCMs have been around for a very long time and come in all types of formulations. PCMs are materials designed to store or release heat at predetermined temperatures to provide useful heating and cooling characteristics.
Without going into a complex scientific explanation, the phase change material inside EnigMAT is custom-formulated to start absorbing heat when a specified ambient temperature is reached. It then actively works to store that heat until the ambient temperature has peaked. Once the ambient temperature starts to drop, EnigMAT gradually releases the stored heat.
Capture – Store – Release
When you have EnigMAT installed over the existing insulation in your attic, it works like an active, heat storage barrier to stop the heat from ever making it through to your existing insulation and then your house or business. This reduces the load on your HVAC system, producing significant savings on your cooling and heating bills, and improves the overall comfort inside your home or business.
The proprietary PCM formulations for EnigMAT are tailored to regional climate zones, providing customized solutions for homes, businesses, offices, and schools that offer optimal comfort and performance. EnigMAT delivers savings and comfort, and safety is never compromised with EnigMat, which holds a Class-A Fire Safety Rating.
In residential applications, EnigMAT is primarily installed in the attic by simply laying it on top of your existing insulation. If you have side/knee walls in your attic, EnigMAT can be stapled in place so you have full coverage.
In light commercial applications, EnigMAT is primarily installed in dropped ceilings by simply laying the EnigMAT Blankets on top of the dropped ceiling tiles.
Additionally, EnigMAT absorbs and stores a remarkable 100 BTUs per square foot, allowing home and business owners to shift and lower their peak HVAC usage and easily avoid expensive energy surcharges.
EnigMAT does not operate like traditional – R-Value-based insulation. Instead, EnigMAT controls heat flow across the insulation layer. That being said, we have data that suggests a two to three-times improvement in existing R-value when paired with traditional insulation.
Traditional insulations, such as fiberglass, cellulose, or spray polyurethane foam limit heat flow by placing resistance (“R” Value) in its path. In buildings, the “R Value” is usually ordinary thermal insulation, such as fiberglass, cellulose, or spray foam.
Traditional forms of insulation operate passively and with limited effectiveness. In contrast, EnigMAT PCMs control heat flow differently. EnigMAT PCMs have little “R Value” because it doesn’t resist heat flow. Rather, it captures and holds the heat to its phase change temperature, then gradually releases thermal energy.
No. There are no components in EnigMAT that attract mice, insects, or other vermin in any way. The packaging is a multilayered film laminate with aluminum and polymer blends that offers no nesting value, and the PCMs provide zero food value.
EnigMAT has achieved a Class A fire rating per ASTM E84 testing, with a 5/5 rating for flame spread and smoke developed. Flame spread and smoke developed are rated on a 100-point scale, with 0 [zero] being a perfect score, and 100 [one hundred] being the worst score. A Class A rating is a score that falls between zero and twenty-five, and EnigMAT scored an ultra-low 5 rating for both flame spread and smoke developed.
Unlike traditional insulation methods such as fiberglass, cellulose, and spray foam that requires time-consuming and labor-intensive installation processes, EnigMAT is easy to handle and install. Pliable, lightweight, and simple to work with, EnigMAT can be placed on top of existing attic insulation or suspended ceiling tiles in your office, school, or business. Installing EnigMAT instantly enhances the thermal efficiency of your space. It absorbs, stores, and releases thermal energy at your desired temperature range, keeping you comfortable while reducing HVAC usage.
